Essential Systems was founded by Bob Kaule and John Todhunter in 1984. Dan Gynn joined the ownership team in 2002. Every project at Essential Systems is headed by one of the three partners ensuring that your project gets the attention, expertise, and resources that it requires.

John is our main database guru. He also does alot of our non-UI development and system integration software.

John has taught database systems and database internals at the university and graduate levels. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, specializing in computer engineering, and was a Senior Fulbright Scholar in the Department of Computing, Mathematics, and Cybernetics at Kazan State University in Kazan, Russia. John is a certified DB2 Administrator.

Bob specializes in GUI applications and custom hardware components. He is our Lotus Notes expert.

Bob is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He has over 25 years of experience in computing concentrating in automation, real-time computing, client/server systems and database systems.

Dan is our Linux and Virtualization expert. He also specializes in developing Windows and browser-based applications.

Dan has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Pittsburgh. He has many years of experience managing Linux systems and developing user interface software for database systems, including Windows and web-based applications.
